Contemporary Dance Australia

ContemporaryDance.com.au is an exciting new online project run by a group of dedicated volunteers. The aim of the site is to provide a place where people can find out about contemporary dance in Australia. At the moment we are focussing on gathering information, pictures and video of dance performances and classes so that visitors can see what is coming up.

As the site grows we will be providing more information so that people will be able to see behind the scenes on performances through blogs, more video and "inspiration galleries", collections of words, pictures, sound, music and anything else that may have inspires a particular piece.

You can leave your comments about the shows you've seen and we will soon provide a special place for visitors to write reviews. We also encourage anyone who wishes to contribute in anyway to contact us. This could be for classes or performances you're involved in, or to work with us to gather more material from other people.

Expanding the Site

Over time we are developing relationships with dance organisations, dance companies and independent dancers to make sure as many people become involved as possible. In the early stages we've had a lot of help from Dancehouse in Melbourne and have been working with Ausdance to develop and expand the site.

As we are based in Melbourne we are initially concetrating on building our connections there, however it's very important that the site covers dance around Australia and we are very keen to develop relationships with dancers and companies around Australia. We will eventually get around to contacting you however if you want to get in early, don't hesitate to drop us a line.
