There are a number of organisations in Australia which work very hard to support and promote contemporary dance. The list below includes local and national organisations.

Ausdance is a national dance organisation which aims to promote awareness and understanding of, and access to, dance throughout Australia. The organisation grew from the Australian Association for Dance Education which was founded in Melbourne in 1977.
Ausdance hosts the Australian Dance Awards and number of other initiatives and has a large collection of dance resources.
There are Ausdance offices in each State.

Critical Path is a choreographic research and development centre for dance artists in New South Wales. Based at The Drill, a large rehearsal space on the harbour in central Sydney, Critical Path's program offers space, support, training, mentoring and other opportunities.
